Tyre pressure monitoring system to be mandatory from July 2024

Tyre pressure monitoring system to be mandatory from July 2024

The EU has made TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) mandatory from 7 July 2024. Whenever your K-Force's tyre pressure is too low, you will receive an automatic alert. You can read the current and desired tyre pressure on your Smartboard.

You may not give tyres a lot of thought, but they provide the only point of contact with the road surface. The correct tyre pressure provides for better surface contact, which is essential for safe transport. Tyre pressure monitoring is being made mandatory by the authorities to promote road safety.

Good tyre management provides advantages

In addition to all the other benefits, the correct tyre pressure of your moving floor trailers provides more stable road contact.

Good tyre management has a positive impact on the total cost of ownership. You extend the service life of your tyres, contribute to better road safety and reduce fuel consumption, and you avoid unnecessary downtime due to a blowout, for example. Apart from the obligation from the EU, these aspects also all point towards the benefits of using TPMS.

The deployment of TPMS has a preventive effect. Any deviations in tyre pressure are promptly detected and reported so that immediate action can be taken.

TPMS will be fitted as standard from 7 July 2024, but it can also be fitted on Kraker trailers before that date.

Other systems available

Apart from TPMS, there are also more comprehensive systems available, such as TPRS (Tyre Pressure Refill System). This system monitors the tyre pressure, but it also automatically re-inflates and maintains the minimum pressure in case of a puncture. Kraker Trailers can fit various systems to your K-Force.
